Creating and Supporting Evidence-Based Nursing Practice
Abstract
Nursing practice continues to develop as patients present with more complex cases, technology advances, and outcome standards increase. Nurses must know more, do more, and be able to achieve more than ever before. The integration of research, clinician experience, and patient values and preferences to achieve preferred outcomes in an efficient, effective, high-quality, safe, resource-saving manner is essential. Nurses must be aware of and have support for the conscientious integration of evidence-based practices when it comes to patient care and ensuring healthy work environments. This presentation outlines core steps needed to support enculturation of the structure and processes needed to gain positive outcomes from the use of evidence-based nursing practice.
