Opportunities & Challenges
Abstract
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been making significant strides in enhancing its healthcare system to meet the evolving needs of its population. As part of these efforts, there is a growing recognition of the importance of integrating advanced practice nurses (APNs) into the healthcare workforce. APNs bring specialized clinical expertise, advanced knowledge, and skills that can help improve the quality of care and address the increasing demand for healthcare services in the Kingdom.
The purpose of this presentation is to share our experiences of introducing and implementing APN role in our institution. Will focus on the roles of
Regulatory Bodies; Education and Training; Scope of Practice; Collaborative Practice; Professional Development and Public Awareness.
The overall aim of this presentation is to promote increased understanding of APN roles and optimal use of the broad range of APN knowledge, skills, and expertise in all role domains and scope of practice.
Embracing APNs as integral members of the healthcare workforce will not only address current healthcare challenges but also position Saudi Arabia for a sustainable and resilient healthcare future.
